A rear deck rebuild in Mt. Lebanon — replacing a sagging pressure-treated structure with a Trex composite system engineered for a 30-year service life.
The Ask
No more splinters. No more annual staining. Built-in bench seating along the rail. And a gate tight enough the dog can’t escape.
The Design
Trex Transcend decking in a warm saddle tone, hidden fasteners throughout for a clean surface. Aluminum rail with tight cable infills to preserve the view. A built-in bench wraps one corner. Proper ledger flashing against the house — the detail most deck failures come down to.
The Build
Three weeks. New concrete footers set below frost line. Double 2x10 rim joists, joists at 12" on-center for the composite surface. Lag-bolted ledger with continuous flashing and drip edge.

Words From Us
“An outdoor living space that extends the way this family entertains. The composite holds; the proportions read; the railing detail keeps the lines clean. A second living room, just outside.”
