A second renovation for a returning ICR client — this time a full-gut bathroom in their Brookline home, taken back to studs and rebuilt with bold color and a layout that finally fits how they actually use the space.
The Ask
We want emerald green walls — yes, really. A navy-blue vanity to anchor against it. A walk-in shower with a teak bench and a quiet niche. Lit mirrors. And we want this room to feel intentional, not safe.
The Design
Deep emerald green on the walls reads as confident, not loud, against soft greige large-format wall tile in the shower and a hex-tile shower floor for traction and visual interest. A custom navy-blue vanity with shaker fronts, white quartz top, and matte black hardware. A frameless glass enclosure with built-in teak bench. A backlit LED mirror for clean ambient light at the vanity.
The Build
Five weeks, taken back to studs. Original framing reinforced where the existing tub had been, plumbing fully re-run to current code, electrical brought to dedicated circuits for the lit mirror and shower light. Schluter waterproofing membrane on every shower face, with the niche reinforced and pre-pitched to drain. Every tile cut on site to make the green wall meet the tile field on a half-bullnose with a clean reveal.
The moment it came together.

Details, from every angle.

“A second project for a family that hired ICR once before — and called us back. Emerald green, navy vanity, intentional choices throughout. Repeat customers are the most honest review a contractor can earn.”
