A handsome 1930s colonial on Greenwood Avenue — original hardwood, original trim, and an original kitchen that needed to enter the 21st century without losing the home’s character.
The Ask
A kitchen that looked like it could have always been there. Warm, not stark. Real wood, real stone, no particleboard drawer boxes.
The Design
Walnut-stained shaker cabinetry with inset doors. Honed soapstone counters that will develop a patina. A full-height tile backsplash in a classic pencil-mold border. Brass pulls, unlacquered, so they age with the house.
The Build
Seven weeks. Trim profiles matched to the existing casework throughout the first floor. Original hardwood flooring carefully protected during demolition and refinished in place after install.

Words From Us
“A century-old Avalon home given a kitchen that respects what was there and updates everything that needed updating. The light is better, the flow is better, the storage is better. The character of the house stays intact.”
Jordan Kelly, ICR Co-Owner
