A second-story deck off the back of a historic 1920s home on a remote project site — replacing a rotting predecessor with a composite structure that respects the home's original lines.
The Ask
Don’t make this look like a contemporary deck slapped on an old house. Black metal rails. Cover the underside so we can use the space below.
The Design
Dark charcoal Trex decking. Slim matte-black aluminum railing with narrow balusters — a historically-sympathetic profile. A tongue-and-groove ceiling system on the underside creates a dry porch below for outdoor furniture.
The Build
Four weeks. New structural posts replacing failed originals. Careful tie-in to existing masonry for the ledger. Under-deck drainage system diverts runoff away from the lower patio.

Words From Us
“An outdoor space delivered to spec, on schedule, on a remote site. The kind of project where logistics matter as much as the finish — and the finish came out right.”
