Renovation Specialist

Pittsburgh, PAFull-time$18–$25 / hr

Hands-on tradesperson on the ICR build team. You’ll work alongside our project managers and lead carpenters on residential renovations across Pittsburgh — kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions, decks, and the occasional concrete job.

The role

Most ICR projects run four to twelve weeks. As a Renovation Specialist, you’ll show up at the same job site most days for the duration of a project, doing whatever the build calls for — demo, framing, drywall, tile, finish carpentry, paint touch-ups, materials handling, site cleanup. Most days you’ll touch two or three trade disciplines, which is the point: the work stays varied and you learn fast. Whether you’ve got ten years on the tools or zero, what we care about is whether you show up, take feedback, and want to get better at the craft.

What you’ll do

  • Be at our Castle Shannon office at 7:45 AM ready to roll out to the job site. On time, every day.
  • Execute the daily plan from your Project Manager — demo, framing, drywall, flooring, tile, finish carpentry, paint, cleanup, whatever the day calls for.
  • Maintain safety on site: PPE, fall protection, jobsite cleanliness, awareness of what’s happening around you. Flag hazards before they become problems.
  • Track your hours in Hubstaff and update task progress in Monday.com daily — photos, status changes, notes.
  • Coordinate with your Project Manager to prioritize tasks, raise material shortages, and surface quality concerns or scope questions.
  • Take care of the tools and equipment you’re issued. Report breakage and request what you need to do the work right.
  • Interact professionally with homeowners on site — they’re trusting us in their house every day.
  • Support other crew members and subcontractors when needed; ask questions, share what you know.

What we’re looking for

  • Reliable — you show up on time, every day.
  • Coachable — you take feedback without ego.
  • Hard-working — physical work doesn’t scare you. You’ll be on your feet, lifting, climbing, kneeling.
  • Honest — with the team, with clients, with yourself.
  • Curious — you actually want to learn the craft, not just collect a paycheck.
  • Valid PA driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites across the South Hills and greater Pittsburgh.
  • Drug-free workplace — pre-employment screening and random testing.
  • DOT Medical Evaluation required if assigned to drive company vehicles (we cover the exam).
  • Willingness to use Monday.com and Hubstaff daily — they’re how the whole team stays in sync.
  • Construction or trade experience is a plus, not a requirement. Carpentry, demo, painting, tile, drywall, framing — anything counts. OSHA 10/30 a plus.

Benefits

  • Health insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Professional development assistance
  • Real career path — Helper → Apprentice → Skilled Trade → Lead/PM. We promote from within.
  • Year-round work — not seasonal, not gig.
